Canada 2009

August 6-12, 2009.
We had such an amazing vacation visiting my best friend, Kelly, her husband, Todd, their beautiful little girl, Gracie and their sweet black lab, Tucker in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada.
They have a beautiful home with a breath taking view on the river. (You will see many pictures of their cute little private beach and their beautiful sunsets).
Kelly did a wonderful job packing in as much as possible, which made our trip so much fun. We went to The Bay of Fundy National Park - had a picnic and stopped at a local lobster shop (in Alma) and picked up 2 huge lobsters for dinner weighing 4.5 and 5.5 lbs each! We got a private little tour of the lobster shop and were "treated" to a fresh, raw scallop just off the boat - which was quite interesting. Our lobster dinner was delicious - Todd did a great job cooking and serving the giant lobsters. The next day we went to the adorable little town of St. Andrew's (near the Maine border). We strolled around the quant main street and had a nice lunch before boarding The Jolly Breeze Tall Ship to go whale watching. We saw seals and a finback whale. It was an amazing experience. Sunday, we relaxed at their home. We set up the backyard with a little splash park and pool for the little ones to play in. Lounged in the hammock, swam in the river, relaxed in the jacuzzi, and played Bocce Ball (which Kelly ended up being really good at). After the little ones went to bed, we finished the day with a nice fire on the beach (in their beautiful backyard) - with some smores, margaritas & Canadian beer. Kelly also had a great "photo shoot" of the guys...which of course, they were thrilled about! On Monday, we ate breakfast at the delicious restaurant Cora's, then strolled around the shops in uptown Saint John and stopped by the indoor play park to let the little ones play! And Tuesday we made the 3.5 hour drive over the 10 mile Confederate Bridge to Prince Edward Island. The babies were great and it was fun to show them PEI. On the way home, we stopped by COW'S Creamery and enjoyed some yummy Canadian ice cream! After returning home, the guys went on a quick sailing trip to the marina (with Kelly & Todd's neighbor), while the little ones helped me pack.

I was so excited to see how well Campbell and Gracie played together - they were all about some "kisses" - which was really really sweet!

Kelly, Todd & Gracie made our trip so wonderful - they were amazing hosts and made us feel right at home. Kelly's wonderful talents of "tour guide", "travel agent", "host", & "wonderful cook" made for a perfect vacation - which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks again for EVERYTHING! We love you!

WOW!!! Your slide show turned out great and I really enjoyed reliving all the fun we had while y'all were here through all your pictures. I know it wasn't easy to sort through 600+ pictures and having to zoom/crop the images....but your hard work was worth it. Now you have your Canadian vacation nicely organized in a beautiful montage!

Thank you again for coming a spending the week with us. I'm already looking forward to our next yearly family get-together! Wonder where will go and what will do?

Can't wait to see you in November!

Wish I could be there for Campbell's 1st birthday!

XOXO,
Kelly
